WHAT THE FUCK?...that´s blasphemy...c´mon this is a joke now...jimi hendrix couldn´t play the guitar right?well who do you think is a good player then?fucking zakk wylde or slash?i mean they are fucking bad ass but no one played like jimi...but you gotta care about the musical side...his voice was pretty cool as well but that´s just the style...
Well, as I always say: you are you, and I am I. And in my humble opinion, Hendrix is OVERRATED, or it's maybe that i can't understand his music.
I could never deny how influential has Hendrix been on rock 'n roll history.
But consider this: is a widely accepted fact that Hendrix was the first Woodstock era-blues/rock guitarrist who saw himself helped by recording studio technology (in fact, there are things that you can hear in his albums that you cannot hear live).
I accept that this song "Banner" is pretty cool (Hendrix playing with his teeth), but, in despite of his influence , in blues/rock camp i prefer the "cowboy" Steve Ray Vaughn, or the first blues era of Eric Clapton (with John Mayall's Blues Breakers, OMG!).
And what about Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson, or Yngwie Malsteem?
(You should listen to the Heavy Metal band Dragonforce: unbelievable tandem of guitarrists, inhuman speed and technic!)

wtf satriani, eric johnson and malmsteen?those are like the clichee best guitar players...everyone thinks they´re special but everyone can play what they play...it´s just technique no feelings in it...and BANNER is actually the national anthem of the us and his interpretation is like political...he makes machine gun noises with his guitar while playing it criticising the vietnam war...fuck speed and technique as i said everyone can do that by practising...most metal bands think they have the best guitar players but metal is nothing special you don´t have to be a musician to write metal but you must be one if you wanna write jazz or blues or whatsoever...c´mon i thought you are a musician
Take a look at the world around you! Can you see the desperation? Take a look at the world around you! Can you see the life you´re living?

^ agree with Eurotrash.
Anyway...
I'LL go back to the topic.
Forever's acoustic version rocked when I watched it performed... at some late night show. Craig Ferguson, I think. I <3 this song so much that I'm currently writing a fictional short story inspired by it.
